Global software and BPO services provider Zensar Technologies has partnered with the Shenzhen Municipal Government in China to impart Project Management skills to 1000 Chinese software professionals over three years. These software professionals will be provided projects experience and technical and customer management skills at a dual-shore center of excellence (COE) in India and China over the next three years.
The agreement also marks the setting up of the Sino-India International Senior Software PM Training Project, which is the first cooperation between China and India on senior software talent training. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Ganesh Natarajan, Chairman of Zensar China and Global CEO of Zensar Technologies Ltd and Zeng Guozhong, Director of the Shenzhen Science & Information bureau in the presence of Vice Mayor Liu Shing Li in Shenzhen on January 26, 2005.
The COE project is the next step which will help Zensar in fine tuning the local skills needed for our own projects and also support the Shenzhen Government in its endeavor to make Shenzhen the city of choice for global software development.
The contract is valued at 4.5 million USD over three years, which will be jointly funded by Government and Industry.
Zensar's eight-month old China venture offers services in areas of software development, professional services, CMM Consulting, Enterprise Applications (Oracle applications arena) etc. Zensar Technologies holds 51% stake in this venture, while one of China's top 20 software companies, Broadengate holds 49%. Zensar China has successfully executed a project for a US-based retail customer and a China based telecom manufacturer.
