Challenges

Change: Changing business demands and technology challenges are forcing you to improve operational efficiency and manage risk.

Catch 22: You have to deal with rising cost & complexity of maintenance with users clamoring for better applications & newer features on one hand, while budget constraints do not allow you to do much about it on the other.

Problems: You are not sure whether your internal IT teams are geared to be able to help you out. Critical Application knowledge resides with a few people, there is little or poor documentation.

Competition: Your mature systems are sitting on older technologies, while your competitors are zooming in with great architectures and easy to use modern front-ends.

What if something happens? Even if you decide to do something about it, your Mission Critical Applications have been serving you well for years, they are reliable, and get the job done, you’re not so sure about wanting to tamper with them.

Whether as a CIO, a Senior Manager or ‘the’ in charge for large-scale applications if any of this sounds familiar, consider your probelms solved. You've reached the right place.

Solutions

Zensar’s approach to Re-engineering is to use software based automation to the maximum, ensuring the focus shifts from technology to the business processes present in the system.

This is made possible by our emphasis on R&D which has yielded an ability to analyze the existing source code by means of tools, and our own homegrown Solution blue Print(SBP) which allows for designing using UML and BPMN notations. Solution Blue Print(SBP) also supports automatic generation of controller and class code along with database schema. The usage of industry standards for the visual modeling allows business analysts to focus on the business process flow while the output of this modeling is fed to the tool for code generation.

Highlights

  • Traditional means of analysis is to simply ‘throw people’ at the job. This leads to inefficiencies and non-standard outputs in terms of documents
  • The Zensar approach provides for Visual Models that both Business Analysts and Designers can understand, at the same time employing lesser resources to accomplish the task.
  • The dependency on people is reduced to a large extent and the focus shifts to the business process
  • The chances of missing on any critical business rules during the analysis is virtually nil
  • Increased productivity since the analyst needs to refer to Visual Models instead of going through reams of code or tedious documentation
  • The customer is provided visibility into the whole process – they can refer to models that are easy to understand
  • The reference UML model generated has all the attributes and business rules present and can hence be used directly for the design.
  • The refined model is robust, scalable, and can be made platform independent
  • Zensar’s Solution Blue Print (SBP) generates running and deployable code for the components and database objects from the refined model further enhancing productivity and bringing in standardization to the code
  • Dynamic documentation generated automatically besides saving on plenty of effort ensures documentation integrity thus leading to easier and more effecient maintenance
