Sourcing Superstars: ISG Tango’s Market Makeover
Overview | Redefining sourcing efficiency with ISG TangoTM
In March 2024, our client, ISG, a leading global technology research and advisory firm, launched ISG Tango™. This groundbreaking sourcing platform digitizes all elements of ISG's renowned sourcing transactions business, aiming to enhance client service, accelerate transaction speed and efficiency, and expand ISG's market reach. Collaborating closely with ISG, we spearheaded the design and engineering efforts to bring this platform to fruition, enhancing transaction speed and effectiveness.
Challenges | Enhancing efficiency and market reach
The challenges for ISG were two-pronged. Firstly, it required transforming the labor-intensive, manual, and complex sourcing process into a streamlined, automated, and simplified workflow. Secondly, ISG was looking to leverage technology to augment its specialized team, enabling them to handle increased workload and complexity while expanding into new markets. The company’s overarching goal was to deliver a superior sourcing experience to their clients and providers, driving better efficiency, effectiveness, and seamless integration of advanced technological solutions.
Solution | Strategic partnership and iterative development
Through an agile collaboration with the ISG team, we iteratively developed the sourcing platform, paving the way for future enhancements. Our approach involved collaborating with ISG's key stakeholders, researching the sourcing process, and harnessing ISG's technical expertise. We prioritized digitizing and delivering features that would significantly impact user experience, focusing on improving experiences for employees, clients, and providers. The solution involved a phased transformation to ensure a systematic approach. Phase 1 was about discovering and defining the existing sourcing experience and identifying pain points and opportunities for streamlining and automation. It was crucial to determine the MVP and user journeys essential for enhancing efficiency. Phase 2 involved building an MVP at pace and developing an MVP roadmap aligned with the technical architecture. User research with providers validated our approach, ensuring alignment with user needs and future scalability. Phase 3 was the build phase, shaping and prioritizing features for incremental delivery.
Impact | Getting the results right
The launch of ISG TangoTM garnered feedback from stakeholders, guiding further platform evolution. By combining qualitative and quantitative insights with usage data, we identified areas for improvement and shaped a prioritized backlog for future enhancements, ensuring continued value delivery.
